When France Télévisions was looking for a new virtual production solution, Aski-da proposed Pixotope, in partnership with Postlogic, the exclusive distributor of the solution in France.

A solution dedicated to virtual production
Pixotope is software designed entirely for virtual production. It stands out thanks to its wealth of native tools that facilitate the integration and use of virtual sets.
“The collaboration with the Askida and Post-Logic teams was particularly smooth and transparent, enabling us to successfully complete our first switch to the Pixotope solution in the summer of 2025. This technology now gives us the opportunity to further improve the quality of our renderings and increase realism as France Télévisions’ sets evolve.” – Milène Faligot, Head of ISP Production, FTV
A gradual deployment to ensure uninterrupted broadcasting
The project involved migrating all productions to Pixotope, with one key constraint: ensuring complete continuity of broadcasting.
To achieve this, the new systems were deployed in parallel with the existing solutions, allowing time to secure the transition and validate the new workflows.
Pixotope was installed on two complementary sets:
- A main set with five cameras, used in particular for Stade 2, a premium program filmed live with an audience every Sunday, but also for filming numerous other programs throughout the week (religious programs, Le Monde en Face, Justice en France, etc.).
- A new set with three cameras, dedicated to daily programs, including France 2’s weather news program and Stade 2 La quotidienne for France 3.

Support and development of the teams’ autonomy
The new sets were integrated by France Télévisions’ Real-Time Graphics Unit (GTR). Initially, Aski-da Creative supported the teams in getting to grips with the solution and learning how to use the new tools, but today the teams are fully autonomous, both in terms of integrating the sets and in the day-to-day operation of the studios.
“The deployment of these new rendering engines, in collaboration with Aski-da Creative and Post-Logic, has enabled our in-house teams to effectively master the tool and significantly improve the visual quality of our productions. We have been able to review our approach to integration in order to improve the accessibility, efficiency, and stability of our workflows. Frequent system updates allow us to continue this work and offer the best rendering for current and future programs.” – Cynthia Gravet, Head of GTR, FTV
The systems have also been mastered by the equipment managers at La Fabrique France TV, who are now able to start up the installations and perform basic maintenance.
Supervised by the Manufacturing Process Support Engineering department, the physical integration on site was also carried out in close collaboration with La Fabrique, ensuring a smooth implementation in line with the group’s standards.
A project-based approach, followed by ongoing support
The deployment was carried out in project mode, with dedicated management, before switching to a shared support mode. This system now enables France Télévisions to benefit from responsive support tailored to its filming schedules, while retaining complete autonomy in day-to-day operations.
Results
- A virtual production solution aligned with France Télévisions’ editorial and technical requirements
- Greater autonomy for internal teams
